About BRock FITness
BRock FITness provides guidance and training for people who wish to learn about physical activity, physical fitness, and exercise while improving their personal wellbeing through physical movement. Owner, Gordon Brockerville, offers personal training (PT) and small group (2–3) training (SGT) at his home gym in Marystown, Newfoundland and conducts mobile PT and SGT for clients on the Burin Peninsula who would prefer to train in the privacy of their own home. Gordon also conducts large group training (LGT) consisting of indoor/outdoor boot camps, running programs, and nordic pole walking clinics.
About Gordon
Gordon is a wellness enthusiast who is passionate about fitness. He enjoys weight training, yoga, cycling, swimming, hiking, and running. As a lifelong runner, he has participated in numerous provincial, national, and international running events including the Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, and New York City marathons. Through his volunteer work with Mariners Athletics Club, he has organized countless local running and walking events. Upon retiring from teaching in 2007, Gordon officially entered the fitness industry when he was hired by the town of Marystown to design and conduct a Healthy Aging Adult 50+ Fitness Program. He continues to manage and conduct two 50+ fitness programs (Easy Striders). Through the previous incarnation of BRock FITness, PAL (Personal Active Lifestyles), Gordon has been conducting personal training, running programs, and boot camps since 2010.
Gordon is a certified CanFitPro personal trainer and a certified Canadian Nordixx Pole Walking instructor. He holds an Active Aging Certificate from CanFitPro and a Principles of Healthy Aging Certificate from Recreation NL. He earned degrees in education, physical education, as well as a Master of Physical Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
